Privacy Policy

Snap Health – Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 4, 2025

  1. Introduction

  2. Snap Health (“we” or “us”) is a camera-based health app that respects your privacy. This Policy explains what limited data we collect and how we use it, in compliance with applicable laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.). By using Snap Health, you consent to the practices described here.

  3. Data We Do Not Collect
  4. No Account Information: We do not require you to create an account or provide personal identifiers (no names, emails, phone numbers, etc.). We follow data minimization – you can use the app anonymously.
No Persistent Identifiers: We do not assign or collect any persistent device IDs or trackers. We do not collect your location, contacts, or any unrelated personal data.

  5. Camera Usage

  6. Snap Health uses your device camera only to capture photos of health device readings (e.g., a blood pressure monitor display). The camera is accessed with your permission, solely for this purpose. We do not access your photo library or any images except those you choose to capture within the app. Photos taken in Snap Health never leave your control except to be processed as described below, and we do not retain them after processing.

  7. Image Processing via API

  8. Captured photos are sent securely to our image-processing API in a transient manner. This means: we process but do not store your photos on our servers. The image is used momentarily to extract health metrics (e.g., reading values) and then is immediately discarded from our backend. We do not build any personal profile or database of your images or data. The processing is done over HTTPS (encrypted in transit) to protect your data.

We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in Snap Health. The API processing your image is operated by us and is used only to serve the app’s core function. We do not share these images or extracted data with any third parties for any purpose other than this processing service.

  9. Health Data and Apple Health Integration

  10. Snap Health integrates with Apple’s HealthKit/Health app to sync the metrics extracted from your photos to your Health app. With your explicit consent, we write health data (such as your health readings) to the Apple Health app on your device. We do not receive or store any of your Health app data on our servers. The health metrics we handle are only those you choose to capture and sync; they are stored securely in Apple Health on your iPhone, not with us.

HealthKit restrictions: We never use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing purposes, and we never sell or share your health data with third parties. Data from HealthKit is used only to improve your health management (by consolidating your device readings in Apple Health) in accordance with Apple’s App Review Guidelines. We cannot write or read any HealthKit data without your permission, and you can revoke access at any time via the Health app settings.

  11. How We Use Collected Information

  12. In summary, the app’s functionality is the sole purpose for any data usage. We use the camera image only to extract the health metric for you, and we use the metric only to display it to you and sync with your Health app as directed. We do not use your data for any secondary purposes like profiling, advertising, or selling of data. In fact, for most users, Snap Health will not collect any personally identifiable information at all during normal use. If you opt to contact us for support (e.g., via email), we will use your contact information only to respond to your inquiry and will not retain it longer than necessary.

  13. Data Sharing and Disclosure

  14. We value your privacy: we do not disclose your data to anyone. Since we do not store personal data, there is nothing to share for marketing or other purposes. We do not sell any user data (which complies with CCPA – we treat submitted data as “not for sale”). The only parties involved in processing are: your device (capturing the photo), our API (temporarily analyzing the photo), and Apple Health on your device (receiving the health info). We will disclose data only if legally compelled (e.g., court order), which is highly unlikely given we don’t retain it.

  15. Data Security and Retention

  16. We implement industry-standard security (e.g., HTTPS encryption) for data in transit. Because we do not keep your health photos or metrics on our servers, there is minimal risk of data breach on our side. On your device, your Health app data is protected by Apple’s security (Health data is encrypted and protected by device passcode/biometrics). We retain personal data only as long as necessary for processing (for photos, this is only for seconds during analysis). Processed health metrics are stored in Apple Health until you choose to delete them via the Health app. We do not log or store images or health readings in any persistent logs or databases.

  17. Your Privacy Rights

  18. Because we collect little to no personal data, your privacy rights are easily honored. If you are an EU resident, you have the right to request access to or deletion of any personal data we might hold (under GDPR). Since we do not maintain user profiles, any such request would likely pertain to support emails or similar communications. We will assist you in exercising your rights and will respond to inquiries within the timeframes required by law. If you are a California resident (CCPA), note that we do not sell your information, and you have the right to know what personal information may be collected (in our case, minimal, as described above) and to request deletion of any such information. To exercise any rights or ask questions about your privacy, you can contact us at jamespacileo@outlook.com.

  19. Children’s Privacy

  20. Snap Health is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. If you are under 13, do not use this app without parental consent. If we learn we have inadvertently received personal data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

  21. Changes to This Policy

  22. We may update this Privacy Policy as needed to comply with changing laws or to add new features. We will notify users of any material changes (for example, by updating the policy link in our App Store listing and within the app). The “Effective Date” at the top will always indicate when the last changes were made. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Your continued use of Snap Health after changes means you accept the revised Policy.

  23. Contact Us
